COMMUNITY COUNCILLOR VACANCIES:  There are two casual vacancies in the office of Councillor for the Acton Park and Maesydre Community Wards.  Expressions of interest are again being sought from members of the public interested in representing their Community and who meet the relevant qualifications.  Certain people are disqualified from standing, and these include paid officers of the community council, anyone subject to bankruptcy restriction orders and those subject to recent sentences of imprisonment.  

The closing date for receipt of expressions of interest is NOON on Monday 14 January 2019.The Community Council intends to proceed to co-opt and fill these vacancies at its meeting to be held on Tuesday 15 January 2019. Anyone who submits an expression of interest will be invited to attend and give a short 2/3 minute address to the meeting in support of their application.

Community Councillor Vacancy – Little Acton Ward

This Public Notice advertises that the Community Council intends to Co-opt ONE member to fill the vacancy that exist in the office of Councillor for the LITTLE ACTON Community (Ward). Expressions of interest are sought from members of the public interested in representing their community who meet the relevant qualifications:

[1] Certain people are disqualified from standing, and these include paid officers of the community council, anyone subject to bankruptcy restriction orders and those subject to recent sentences of imprisonment.

Please note that the closing date for receipt of expressions of interest is NOON on Monday 18 June 2018. The Community Council will proceed to co-opt and fill the vacancy at its meeting to be held on Tuesday 20 June 2018 when all qualifying persons who submit an expression of interest will be invited to give a short address in support of their application before the vote is taken.

COMMUNITY COUNCILLOR VACANCIES:  There are two remaining vacancies in the office of Councillor for the Borras Park, and Little Acton Community Wards.  Expressions of interest are again being sought from members of the public interested in representing their Community and who meet the relevant qualifications.  Certain people are disqualified from standing, and these include paid officers of the community council, anyone subject to bankruptcy restriction orders and those subject to recent sentences of imprisonment.  

The closing date for receipt of expressions of interest is NOON on Monday 19 February 2018.The Community Council intends to proceed to co-opt and fill these vacancies at its meeting to be held on Tuesday 20 February 2018. Anyone who submits an expression of interest will be invited to attend and give a short 2/3 minute address to the meeting in support of their application.

Addendum:  The Community Council re-advertised these vacancies on 14 March 2018 and will proceed to co-opt and fill the vacancies at its meeting to be held on Tuesday 17 April 2018.  The deadline for submission of applications from interested and eligible persons ended at 12 noon on Tuesday 17 April 2018.  The Council subsequently filled the Borras Park Ward vacancy and re-advertised the Little Acton Ward vacancy above.

The Community Council intends to proceed to co-opt and fill these vacancies at its meeting to be held on Tuesday 12 December 2017. Anyone who submits an expression of interest will be invited to give a short 2/3 minute address to the meeting in support of their application.

Please note that the closing date for receipt of expressions of interest is NOON on Monday 18 September 2017. The Community Council intends to proceed to co-opt and fill these vacancies at its meeting to be held on Tuesday 19 September 2017.

 

COMMUNITY COUNCILLOR VACANCIES – ACTON CENTRAL, BORRAS PARK, LITTLE ACTON AND MAESYDRE WARDS  (updated 17 May 2017)

This Public Notice advertises that the Community Council within 35 days of the 4 May 2017 Council elections is required to fill the six vacancies in its Acton Central (1), Borras Park (2) , Little Acton (1) and Maesydre (2) Community Wards by co-option.

The Council filled one of the two vacancies for the Maesydre Ward at its Annual meeting and has extended the deadline for expressions of interest for the five remaining vacancies. The Council intends at its meeting on 20 June 2017 to Co-opt FIVE members to fill the vacancies that exists in the office of Councillor in these wards. Expressions of interest are now being invited from members of the public who are interested in representing their community and meet the qualifications set out below:

[1] Certain people are disqualified from standing, and these include paid officers of the community council, anyone subject to bankruptcy restriction orders and those subject to recent sentences of imprisonment.

Please note that the closing date for receipt of the expressions of interest form is NOON on Tuesday 13 June 2017. The Community Council will proceed to consider any applications received and co-opt members to fill the remaining FIVE vacancies at its meeting on Tuesday 20 June 2017.

This  Public Notice has since 1 August 2016 been on display on the Public Notice page of the Community Council’s website and on the Public Notice Board at the Council’s office. Please note that the closing date for receipt of expressions of interest is NOON on Tuesday 13 September 2016.

Addendum: The Community Council re-advertised  this vacancy on 29 September 2016 and will proceed to co-opt and fill the vacancy at its meeting to be held on Tuesday 18 October 2016.  The deadline for submission of applications fron interested and eligible persons was 12 noon on Tuesday 11 October 2016.

Please note that the closing date for receipt of expressions of interest is NOON on Tuesday 8 December 2015. The Community Council will proceed to co-opt and fill this vacancy at its meeting to be held on Tuesday 15 December 2015.

Community Agent for Acton: The Closing date to submit an application for this post was Friday 19 September 2014. This post is initially a temporary 12 month part-time post and part of a Pilot Scheme.  Community Agents work to connect people in their area to the services and support that they need and help older people find their way to activities or services which they would enjoy or find useful.

Acton Community Council is taking part in this Pilot scheme and is looking for a Community Agent to operate within the Community’s five wards of Acton, Borras Park, Little Acton, Maesydre and Rhosnesni.  Full training and support will be provided but you must know the area well.   A copy of the job advert can be found by clicking here.
