Wrexham County Borough Council's Public Spaces Protection Order came into force on 1 March 2017.

The responsibility for cleaning up dog fouling lies with the owner or the handler of the dog at the time it fouls. Unfortunately not all dog owners or dog handlers take this responsibility seriously and perhaps do not appreciate the serious health risks that dog fouling can pose.

Acton Community Council is trying to highlight and raise awareness about this problem. See details of a previous School Poster Competition and the Winners below. Local residents are being asked for assistance and information, which may be able to help Enforcement Officers to identify dog owners who may habitually allow their dogs to foul in your area, without clearing it afterwards.

The Community Council before its meeting on 16 December 2014, welcomed pupils from some of the local schools in the Acton Community area who had taken part in its Anti-Dog Fouling Poster Competition. Prizes were presented by the Mayor and Mayoress of Wrexham. The Posters will now be used around the Acton area as part of the Council's campaign to encourage dog owners to pick up after their dogs.
